We accept all major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover, as well as check, cash, or money order. Cards
are accepted with your online purchase, Shopping Cart, or over the phone. Credit card
payments will incur a 3% finance fee applied to your invoice or statement. Orders paid by check, cash, or money order must be received in person or via mail at our Cedar Rapids location and will not be fulfilled until all funds have cleared our account. Cash and check payments will not be
charged any additional fees.

Yes, if you find a lower price on any Ahmann Design house plan from another website we will gladly match that price. Contact us with the other web address and plan number for verification.

*The discount cannot be applied toward modifications.

All plan sales and modification services are final. Due to copyright laws and the
possibility of making illegal copies of the plans received, plans may not be returned
or traded under any circumstance once the order has been processed. Please
double check the plan number and package in your cart before placing your order. Feel free to contact us to discuss any concerns you may have prior to ordering.

There is no time limit for the construction of your home. Some may wait years to
build, and if that’s the case, consider that things like building codes or convenances may change over time requiring changes to your plans in the future. If you originally purchased a 5-set or 8-set print package, you have six months from the time your order was placed to order additional sets at the special
additional set price. After six months, you are required to repurchase the package for additional sets.

Yes, all Ahmann Design house plans including detached
buildings
and multi-family
plans
are registered with the Architectural Copyright Office in Washington D.C. Reproduction in whole or
in part is strictly prohibited by law. One dwelling may be constructed from any one purchased package: 5-Set,
8-Set, PDF or CAD Files. Strict
penalties will be enforced for violators of copyright laws. If you plan to build the home more than once, you can do so for a license fee for each additional build. Please contact us for any additional license for any additional builds.

Our Client Service Representatives work with customers every day, answering plan-specific questions including requests for modifications, assisting with house plan selection and
helping with the ordering process. If necessary, we will conference in one of our lead designers for additional assistance. Please contact us with any questions.

We have an extensive library of stock plans, many of which have not yet been published and cannot be found on our website. We are happy to complete an internal plan search free of charge because
we want to help you find the house plan of your dreams. If after a comprehensive search of our full plan library we still come up empty handed, we are happy to discuss modifications to an existing house plan or having a custom plan drawn specifically for you.

Yes! Our Client Service Representatives are happy to assist you with placing your
order over the phone at 800-725-6852. We are available Monday-Thursday 7:30a-5:00p and Friday 7:30a-1:30p Central Standard Time.

We have limited photography of our plans. If photos are available, they can be found in our Custom or Stock Plan galleries. Stock
plans with photos are also featured on the plan page. If you have built one of our plans and have photos to share, please contact us here. We are always excited to add to our Custom and Stock Plan galleries!

We design our plans to meet nationally recognized building codes. Local building codes may vary due to climatic and geographical design criteria.  We encourage you to meet with your local builder or other construction specialist to review local building codes prior to ordering to ensure full compliance. Additionally, most local building departments will provide a handout listing all specific items required to obtain a buildable permit. Please contact us to discuss any changes required for your building region. 

With respect to our clients' privacy, we will not disclose addresses where our plans
have been built.

Our plans do not include mechanical or plumbing drawings. Because climatic requirements and codes vary
with location your local HVAC contractor and plumber will determine the appropriate systems and layouts for your new home.

A Right Reading Reverse set is a mirrored version of the plan that has been adjusted so all text and dimensions are readable (not backward). This option is typically chosen when a plan needs to be flipped for site conditions, but clear reading of the plans is essential.

A PDF, Portable Document Format, is a digital file that contains a complete set
of working drawings that preserves the scale and layout of the plan design. PDFs are the most popular choice when purchasing a house plan because they can be quickly viewed on most devices, are easily shared via email, and allow you to print unlimited sets of plans.

A CAD, Computer Aided Design, file is an electronic file format used by engineers, architects, and designers to make precise modifications and a complete set of construction drawings. We recommend you ensure you have CAD compatible software prior to
purchasing. Feel free to contact us with any questions.

Typically, you need between 5-8 sets of your house plan. Besides a set for yourself, you will likely need sets for your builder, mortgage lender, local building department and for various
subcontractors (i.e. plumbers, electricians, HVAC, etc.).

All modification requests are quoted specifically on the exact changes you are interested in making to any of our house plans. Completion time can vary depending on the amount and complexity of changes requested, but preliminary plans are typically available 12-18 business days after the order for modifications is placed. Once preliminary plans have been approved, final plans will be completed in an additional 5-7 business days.

Yes, you can change the exterior finish of any of our house plans

Yes, we can customize the foundation type for your house plan. Whether you need a slab, crawl space, or basement foundation, we’re happy to modify the design to meet your needs.
